Dist 1 - Meg Hodges
Meg Hodges was elected on October 15, 2016, to represent District 1. Meg and her husband Shawn live in Sheffield Mills. Together they are raising their son Theo and creating a homestead where they grow vegetables, free range chickens and pigs. Meg is the owner of Root Therapy Gardening and a director of the Sheffield Mills Community Association. As a blossoming farmer and small business owner, she realizes the importance of preserving agricultural land for future generations.

Born in Berwick, Meg has considered Kings County home her entire life, even after moving to Ontario before entering high school. After studying Environmental Management at the University of Guelph and graduating in 2010, Meg returned to Kings County. Since then she has experienced first hand the joys and struggles that can come from living in rural Nova Scotia. She strives to make Kings County a more sustainable community, one that attracts and retains citizens of all ages who are motivated to build an exciting future.
