District: District 2

Dist 1 - Meg Hodges
Councillor Pauline Raven was first elected as Municipal Councillor in 2012. She was re-elected in October 2016 for the newly created District 2. Its boundaries include the communities of Meadowview, North Kentville, Aldershot, Lakewood, Steam Mill, Centreville, Gibson Woods and Upper Canard.

Pauline grew up in working class Belfast (Northern Ireland) where she learned the value of hard work in her family’s green grocery business. She moved to Canada in 1973 as a landed immigrant and became a Canadian citizen in 1975. She and her husband Gerry Cudmore have now lived in Kings County for 40 plus years.

When sons Dorion and Adam entered school, Pauline when back to school too and earned Honours and Master’s degrees (Psychology and Sociology) at Acadia University. She then worked for many years as a senior administrator in the area of women and children’s health, has served on local, provincial and national boards, and has an enduring interest in poverty reduction.

Pauline’s early interest in Council began as concern for the preservation of farm land and grew to include the broader, but related, issues of growing and greening our local economy and making Kings County a very welcoming place for newcomers. She believes residents have a right to efficient government that provides the maximum benefits possible from our tax payments.

Keeping in touch with residents of District 2 is a priority. Ideas and concerns are welcome by phone or e-mail. Please visit the Councillor Raven website for an ongoing record of key issues and actions.
