Canada Day: Learn more about July 1 in this Municipal Message

Canada Day is the celebration of the reparation of the Canadian Constitution from the British Crown, in 1867, and governance of Canada by Canadians. It must acknowledge that the Canadian story comprises many different communities, cultures, heritages and peoples who have contributed, and sacrificed to make Canada the community of communities it is today.

Multiculturalism is at the heart of Canadian society—people from all ethnic, cultural, religious, linguistic backgrounds and abilities form the unique cultural fabric of Canada. Canadian Multiculturalism Day is a special time to recognized and celebrate the cultural diversity of Canada.

Most importantly, Canadian Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity to share and learn about the cultural heritage of our neighbours, co-workers, and friends to promote equity, diversity, inclusion, respect, and understanding.

Emergency Water Main Repair on Kenwood Avenue, Thursday, June 23

The Municipality of the County of Kings wishes to advise customers of the
Greenwood Water Utility that due to an emergency repair on Kenwood Avenue, utility customers
may experience no water, or low water pressure, or discoloured water beginning Thursday, June

At this time, we cannot predict how long the repair will take and we ask for your patience while
dealing with this matter. Customers should flush their water lines by allowing the water to run
for approximately ten (10) minutes OR until the water runs clear before use.
