Bob Best – District 6
Phone: 902-679-2031
Where are you from and what is your background?
I am a 35-year retiree of Canada Post, where I was the head Postmaster for 25 years in Coldbrook. For over 40 years now, I have managed the Berwick Arena, and I am a full-time beef farmer.
Why have you chosen to run for office?
I have decided to run for District #6 because I believe in the power of a community and impact that local government can have. Together we can make changes that will continue to better the lives of citizens, businesses, and the local economy of District 6 and beyond.
What strengths would you bring to Council if elected?
The strengths I would bring to Council would be my strong dedication to the community. I have supported District #6 over many years and have demonstrated my ability to deliver results. I have raised over $150,000 for Central Kings Safe Grad, Central Kings Hockey, Central Kings Football, Cambridge Country Acres Playground, Coldbrook Elementary Playground and Pinewood and Royal Estates Playground.
I would bring leadership to our council and a strong voice for economic discipline and transparency in government. I would always consider the well-being and interests that benefit all residents of District 6 and Kings County.
What do you feel are key issues in this election and how would you address them?
I believe the key issues of this elections are:
- 1. wasting of tax dollar money
- 2. removing the deed transfer tax
- 3. lowering taxes
- 4. fixing and maintaining roads in District #6
I will address all these issues by bringing them forward to the council in a timely manner. I believe working as a team with the rest of council and staff will contribute to the success of District #6 and Kings County.
What is one message you would like to send to voters?
The one message I would like voters to know is that I will work for the community of District #6 and promote resolutions. We are a very diverse population, we need to keep growing, supporting all future endeavors, and making decisions that benefit all residents of Kings County.
I will continue to ask hard questions, study the facts, and make my decisions based on what’s in the best interests of our community as a whole. Thank for your support and your trust.
