Where are you from and what is your background?
I am from Kingston, but I attended university in Ottawa. I have a background in project management. Growing up, I worked for my family's ever-growing small business, which taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. This experience has significantly shaped my approach to both personal and professional challenges, and I bring the same commitment to everything I do.
Why have you chosen to run for office?
I believe it is important that the residents of Kings County have a representative who is accessible and genuinely listens to their ideas and concerns. In recent years, the cost of living has steadily increased across Canada. As councillor, my goal will be to explore ways to keep Kings County affordable for its residents. Now is the time to find creative solutions to lower costs, without introducing new taxes that would further burden our already heavily taxed community. We also need to engage with younger residents and encourage their involvement in shaping the future of our county. Let’s promote growth and sustainability in the area while ensuring affordability remains a priority and fostering a sense of inclusion for all generations.
What strengths would you bring to Council if elected?
Throughout my career as a project manager in the construction industry, I've had the privilege of working closely with the public, listening to their concerns, and collaborating to deliver meaningful solutions to complex challenges. This experience has taught me the importance of effective communication, adaptability, and finding common ground to achieve the best outcomes. I believe these skills, combined with my deep commitment to serving the community, will allow me to make a real impact on county council. My goal is to foster a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future for Kings County by driving innovative solutions and working toward a shared vision of success for all residents.
What do you feel are key issues in this election and how would you address them?
We must focus on expanding housing options to combat rising costs and make homeownership more accessible for residents. By streamlining the development process and encouraging responsible growth, we can create opportunities for residents to afford homes and establish long-term roots in Kings County. It’s crucial that we remove unnecessary barriers for first-time homebuyers, whether through financial incentives, reduced red tape, or partnerships with developers committed to providing affordable housing. By doing so, we can not only help individuals and families thrive but also strengthen the social and economic fabric of our community.
What is one message you would like to send to voters?
I am here to listen. The only way we can achieve a better future is by working together. I want to hear from you, because I am just one voice. Together, we can ensure that Kings County continues to move forward in the right direction.
