I have lived in Morristown, in District 5 all my life. I have been a Farmer, Teacher and a Kings County Councillor. I am a faithful member of my church. My involvements in recreation has been recognized with a community service award. Volunteering and helping people has and is a large part of my life.
Why have you chosen to run for office?
I love living in my area, and respect the people here .I have the time, energy and desire to be part of the decisions on issues and services that affect our daily lives. Being familiar with the needs of District 5, I want the residents to be treated fairly, and believe that I have the skills and experience to do that.
What strengths would you bring to Council if elected?
I have trust in our grassroots government. With a Certificate in Municipal Governing, I can represent my constituents in a professional manner. My strength as a caring people person, is essential in the interaction with the Administration, Staff, fellow Councillors and the People. I will stand up for those I represent. With these strengths, I believe my District 5 will be well represented, I take pride in that.
What do you feel are key issues in this election and how would you address them?
I believe that Municipal programs and services are the backbone of our region. In getting our county rejuvenated; it will be essential to review our future planning and expenditures
priorities. In providing a good quality of life for the residents; I take my experiences to the Council chambers, and actively discuss and debate, especially at Budget time; which I have been through many times. I truly believe that my efforts can result in a more satisfied electorate, governed by a competent administration, and directed by a dedicated council.
What is one message you would like to send to voters?
My message is one of caring and time. Growing up in the area, gives me an understanding of the wants and needs. I will devote my time to you. I give my time and energy in studying and learning more, in making a healthier county in which to live, work or play. When you need me, I will listen to your comments, hear your concerns, and devote my time to act on them. I am a good listener, without passing judgement. It will be a duty and privilege to serve you.
