The Municipality is working to address odour and noise at the Hants Border Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The action taken to combat the odour in the spring and summer of 2025 greatly reduced the odour, but new concerns arose about the noise from the blower equipment used to address the smell.

The Municipality ordered new equipment specifically designed to address both odour and noise. Due to supply chain issues, the arrival of larger electrical motors and a custom silencer was delayed until mid-September. Work is underway to get the new equipment installed as soon as possible.
