Scholarship Opportunity


Award: There will be one scholarship of $1000 awarded to one graduating student from each of Kings County’s six high schools:
  • Kings County Adult High School
  • Northeast Kings Education Centre
  • Central Kings Rural High School
  • École Rose Des Vents
  • Horton High School
  • West Kings District High School

Student must be a resident of Kings County (municipality) to be eligible to receive the award; residents of the Town’s (Berwick, Kentville and Wolfville) are not eligible.

Award Purpose: To assist a graduating student to further their education. *Please note Confirmation of Enrolment to your chosen field of study, trade or program may be required.

Criteria for Selection: Submissions will be graded based on cover page, completion of the question, creativity, and depth of response.

The graduating student will write a short essay (1000 words or less) answering the following question:

The Municipality of the County of Kings is committed to being a “community of communities where all people belong”.
Keeping in mind the role and responsibilities of local government, what can the Municipality do to further this vision?

Submissions must include a cover page featuring the student’s name, civic address, mailing address, phone number, email address and high school.

Essays should be submitted electronically no later than JUNE 1, 2022.
