Short-Term Rental Property

Do you operate a short-term rental in the Municipality of the County of Kings and require a Municipal Zoning Confirmation Leter for the new Short-Term Rental Regulations recently announced by the Government of Nova Scotia? Follow these steps to request help from Development staff with the Municipality of the County of Kings.

Email inquiry@countyofkings.ca with the following information:

  • State that you’re applying for a Zoning Confirmation Leter
  • Provide the civic address of the property
  • Include the Assessment Account Number (AAN) or Property ID (PID)
  • Clarify what type of short-term rental you are applying to register with the Province:
    • Tell us how many units are rented and what type of operation you’re running. For example, is it a hotel, bed and breakfast, Airbnb, etc.?
    • Indicate where the rental units are located in the structure (a room, the entire house, an accessory or secondary dwelling unit, etc.)
  • Include your email, phone number and mailing address for contact information.

Pay the required $25 application fee using one of the following payment options:

  • A. E-transfer to etransfer@countyofkings.ca. (Please quote your name, the property’s address and type of accommodation in the message box)
  • B. Credit card (2.5% service fee) - Credit card link: Municipality of the County of Kings - Paymentus (Account Number is 99999999)
  • C. Debit, cash or cheque (In person at Municipal Office, 181 Coldbrook Village Park Dr.)
