Application to amend the rezoning criteria relating to rezoning's from the Rural Mixed Use (A2) Zone to the Rural Industrial (M3) Zone or the Rural Commercial (C4) Zone.
The proposed amendments were identified in a planning application to rezone land to the Rural Industrial (M3) Zone to permit a recycling facility for Rhodenizer Salvage on (PID 55071294) Hiltz Road in Garland.

At the meeting held on January 5, 2021 Council passed a motion to authorize the investigation of minor MPS text amendments needed to revise the rezoning criteria for lands being considered for a rezoning from the Rural Mixed Use (A2) Zone to the Rural Commercial (C4) or Rural Industrial (M3) Zone. At the meeting held January 11, 2022, Planning Advisory Committee authorized a Public Participation Meeting, which was held on Feb 8, 2022. The Planning Advisory Committee passed a motion to forward the proposed amendments to Municipal Council. The application was reviewed by Municipal Council at its meeting held on March 1, 2022 and received FIRST READING. A Public Hearing was held on April 5, 2022 at 6pm and Municipal Council gave SECOND READING at a Council meeting on April 5, 2022.

The minor MPS amendments have been submitted to the Provincial Director of Planning at the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing for review and approval.

This application was given initial consideration by Municipal Council at their meeting on May 3, 2022. A Public Hearing was authorized and scheduled for June 7th, 2022 at 6 pm in Council Chambers at the Municipal Complex. Following the Public Hearing, Municipal Council will give final consideration to the application at their meeting scheduled for the same evening.

The application was reviewed by the Planning Advisory Committee on April 12th, 2022 and received a recommendation to Approve the application.

The application was reviewed by Municipal Council at its meeting held on May 3rd, 2022 and received first reading.

Next step: A Public Hearing was approved and is scheduled for June 7th, 2022 at 6:00PM. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers and is open to the public. Members of the public can listen live at www.countyofkings.ca.

Council intends to review the application and give it second reading at its meeting directly following the Public Hearing.

The application was reviewed by Planning Advisory Committee at its meeting on May 10, 2022 and received a positive recommendation to Council. Municipal Council will give the application initial consideration at its meeting on June 7, 2020 at 6 pm in council Chambers of the Municipal Complex.

Application for a Land Use By-law text amendment to enable residential development on properties without road frontage in the Resource (N1) zone to permit a dwelling at PID 55123764, Nicholsville.

At the meeting held May 4th, 2021 Council passed a motion to authorize the investigation of a minor MPS amendment to enable the proposed text amendment.

A the meeting held February 8th, 2022, Planning Advisory Committee passed a motion recommending Municipal Council give first reading to, and hold a public hearing, regarding a minor amendment to the Municipal Planning Strategy enabling potential residential development on private roads in existence on Nov. 21st, 2019.

A Public Hearing occurred on April 5th, 2022. The application was reviewed by Municipal Council at its meeting held on April 5th, 2022 to receive second reading and was approved by Council.

The minor MPS amendments have been submitted to the Provincial Director of Planning at the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing for re for review and approval.
