The Municipality is seeking to replace By-law #60 (Subdivision Bylaw) that was first approved by Municipal Council in 1995 with the companion document, Municipal Specifications approved in 1997. The replacement Subdivision By-law (By-law #114) and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual were first presented to Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) in May 2025.

PAC then held a Public Participation Meeting in June 2025. On June 10th, 2025 the committee forwarded a positive recommendation that Municipal Council should give First Reading and hold a Public Hearing. On Monday, November 3, 2025 Municipal Council gave First Reading and approved the Public Hearing.

Next Steps: A Public Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday December 2nd, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Municipal Council Chambers and is open to the public. Members of the public can also listen or watch live at www.countyofkings.ca

It has come to staff's attention that all the relevant proposal information was not provided in the initial Public Information Meeting. The planner initially assigned to this file has departed the Municipality. A new presentation was created and recorded by the planner now assigned to the file.

The application has been amended from its original proposal for 12 tourist cabins.

The application was given Initial Consideration by Municipal Council on October 7th, 2025.

A Public Hearing was held by Municipal Council on November 3rd, 2025.
