The Municipality is seeking to replace By-law #60 (Subdivision Bylaw) that was first approved by Municipal Council in 1995 with the companion document, Municipal Specifications approved in 1997. The replacement Subdivision By-law (By-law #114) and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual were first presented to Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) in May 2025.

Following a Public Hearing on December 2, 2025, Council adopted By-law 114 - Subdivision By-law and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs approved the By-law 114 Subdivision By-law as submitted and is now in full effect, as of January 14, 2026. A copy of both the By-law and the Municipal Specs can be found on our website as a single document on our By-law page.

Proposal for amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to enable greater residential development in the community of Greenwich. Amendments include the expansion of the Growth Centre of New Minas, increased residential developability in the Country Residential (A4) Zone and the adoption of wellfield protection regulations associated with the Town of Wolfville municipal water supply. On February 3, 2026, Municipal Council gave the amendments First Reading and authorized a Public Hearing.

Next Step: The Public Hearing is scheduled to take place at 6 pm on March 3, 2026 in Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex. Council is expected to give the amendments Second Reading at their meeting taking place directly after the Public Hearing and will decide if the amendments should be adopted and sent to the Provincial Director of Planning and Minister of Municipal Affairs for review and approval.

A Public Information Meeting was held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 6pm, in Council Chambers.

This application was reviewed by Planning Advisory Committee on February 10th, 2026 and received a positive recommendation to Municipal Council to give first reading to and hold a Public Hearing regarding the application.

NEXT STEP: Municipal Council will give first reading to this application on March 3rd, 2026 at 6:00pm. The meeting will take place in Council Chambers and is open to the public. Members of the public can also listen or watch live at www.countyofkings.ca.
