An application to amend a map and the text of the Land Use By-Law to permit the expansion of an existing agricultural related industry (egg grading facility) at 830 Belcher Street (PID 55030498), Port Williams. It is proposed to amend the text of the Land Use By-Law to permit 'existing agricultural related industries' within the Agricultural (A1) Zone, along side the proposal to rezone 830 Belcher Street, Port Williams from the Rural Industrial (M3) Zone to the Agricultural (A1) Zone.
A Public Information Meeting was held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 6pm, in Council Chambers.
This application was reviewed by Planning Advisory Committee on February 10th, 2026 and received a positive recommendation to Municipal Council to give first reading to and hold a Public Hearing regarding the application.
The application was given first reading by Municipal Council on March 3rd, 2026.
At its meeting on April 7th, 2026, Municipal Council gave the application Second Reading and approved the application.
A Notice of Passing was posted on Municipal social media on April 8th, 2026, marking the start of a 14-day appeal period. The appeal period will be end at 11.59pm on April 22nd, 2026. Information related to making an appeal can be found at www.nsuarb.novascotia.ca or by calling 902-424-4448.
