Planning Project to permit Second Dwellings in Rural Zones.

Planning Advisory Committee reviewed the application on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and recommended that Council give First Reading to the application.

Municipal Council gave the application First Reading on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 and authorized a Public Hearing with the exception of amendments to the Historic Hamlet of Grand Pré (A5) Zone.

NEXT STEP: A Public Hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026 at 6 pm in Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex. Council is expected to give the application Second Reading at its meeting following the Public Hearing. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers and is open to the public. Proposal for amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to enable greater residential development in the community of Greenwich. Amendments include the expansion of the Growth Centre of New Minas, increased residential developability in the Country Residential (A4) Zone and the adoption of wellfield protection regulations associated with the Town of Wolfville municipal water supply. On March 3, 2026, Municipal Council held a Public Hearing and adopted the amendments.

April 23, 2026 - The Municipality received notice from the Provincial Director of Planning that the amendments were approved. The attached notice brings the amendments into full force and effect.
