N.S. Utility and Review Board Approves Municipality’s Boundary Review Application

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (NSUARB) has given the Municipality of the County of Kings the green light to update polling district boundaries for the 2024 municipal election and maintain the current number of Council positions.
“The Board commends the Municipality on the extensive consultation and study process followed. Both staff and Council worked diligently to ensure the views of the public were properly solicited and that relative parity of voting power was achieved among the polling districts while respecting communities of interest,” the NSUARB Board’s decision released on May 12 states.
Nominations Open for Special Election in District 8 (New Minas - Greenwich)

Nominations will be accepted for the office of Councillor in District 8 (New Minas & Greenwich) in the Municipality of the County of Kings, for which an election will be held on June 24, 2023 (electronic voting available from June 17 at noon until June 24 at 7 p.m.).
All nominations must be filed at the office of the Returning Officer, 181 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Nomination Day, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, or by appointment during office hours in the 7 business days preceding Nomination Day.
