2SLGBTQIA+ Pride

The Municipality of the County of Kings through the Strategy for Belonging is committed to building a more diverse, inclusive, equitable and just county. This goal is to enhance the quality of life for all through the provision of Municipal services in an inclusive, effective, and collaborative manner. Importantly, the goal is to achieve the Municipality’s vision of "a community of communities where all people belong."

In keeping with the vision of being "a community of communities where all people belong," the Municipality of the County of Kings strives to partner with local organizations provide an inclusive calendar of activities throughout the year and specifically during Pride Month, in honour of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month (June) is a time to:

• Celebrate the contributions of persons from 2SLGBTQIA+ community;
• Increase efforts to build awareness;
• Promote human rights;
• Promote diversity;
• Promote inclusive communities; and
• Reflect on the magnificent journey of courage and collective people power that has gotten us to this stage of acceptance, inclusion, and legislative protection of the inherent human rights of 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
